Welcome to our Community
Who we are:
"I am because we are."
The Black Women Marketplace is a sacred and intentional community created for women of African ancestry who are ready to build, grow, and thrive through shared purpose, cultural pride, and collective elevation.
What we do:
We believe in the power of collaboration over competition, wisdom over ego, and sisterhood over scarcity. Every member brings her brilliance to the table, and in doing so, we create a legacy of abundance, dignity, and divine success.
We are rooted in the African philosophy of Ubuntu — “I am because we are.”
Our marketplace is more than a business space — it is a healing space, a growing space, and a sacred space where we show up for one another in truth, love, and power.
🌍 What It Means to Embrace the Spirit of Ubuntu in Our Marketplace
Ubuntu is an African philosophy meaning “I am because we are.” It speaks to shared humanity, community, and mutual respect. In our space, embracing Ubuntu means we thrive together, not in competition, but in collaboration, encouragement, and celebration of each other’s successes.
✅ Examples of Behavior That Embrace Ubuntu in Our Marketplace
Celebrating a Sister’s Win
When another member shares that she launched her first product, got her first sale, or reached a business milestone — you celebrate with her.
Offering Help Without Expecting Praise
If a member is struggling with how to price her products or set up her store, and you have that knowledge — you share it.
Referring Business to Another Member
If you see someone looking for a product or service you don’t offer, but a fellow member does — you recommend her.
Being Honest but Kind
If you’re giving feedback, it is with love and a desire to help someone grow, not to tear her down.
Lifting While You Climb
As you rise, you reach back and bring others up with you. You share what you’ve learned and offer opportunities when you can.
Creating Space at the Table
When you’re part of a conversation, panel, event, or opportunity, you ask if others from your community can be included too.
Keeping Each Other Safe
If you notice someone is being treated unfairly or being talked about behind their back, you shut it down and redirect.
And much more...
